Origin & Creation

Witches trace their lineage back to Ceridwen, the Celtic goddess of inspiration, poetry, and transformation. Ceridwen’s mystical cauldron of transfiguration served as the foundation for her children’s abilities, gifting them with unique magical talents. To ensure her descendants would remain tied to both the mortal and magical worlds, Ceridwen bound them with a bindrune for inspiration, which allows witches to draw directly from the natural magic of the world around them. This rune embodies their creativity, adaptability, and deep connection to life’s energies.

Witches possess versatile abilities shaped by their emotional sensitivity, healing magic, and mastery of hexes.

Empaths

These witches have a heightened sensitivity to emotions, enabling them to sense the feelings of those nearby.

Advanced Empathy: Skilled empaths can perceive the residual emotions left behind in objects or spaces. By touching a recently handled item or entering a room, they can experience the emotional imprints left by its previous occupants.

This ability makes them exceptional at understanding motivations, uncovering secrets, and detecting lies or hidden intentions.

Healers

These witches use their connection to nature to heal physical and spiritual ailments. They craft potions, salves, and charms, and perform rituals that mend wounds, cure illnesses, and lift curses.

Skilled healers can draw energy from the earth to perform powerful restorative magic, repairing even grievous injuries or removing long-standing afflictions.

Healing magic extends beyond the physical, as witches can soothe emotional pain and restore mental clarity.

Hexxers

These witches can wield powerful hexes and curses when necessary, using their magic to punish those who harm others or disrupt the balance of the natural world.

Hexes can be tailored to cause confusion, weakness, or misfortune, and skilled hexxers can cast highly specific and targeted spells.

Cultural & Social Structure:

Coven-Based Communities: Witches often gather in covens, small groups united by shared goals and mutual support. Covens provide a space for collaboration, protection, and the passing down of ancient knowledge.

Solitary Witches: Some witches choose to live apart from others, drawing strength from nature and focusing on personal growth and connection to their craft.

Rituals and Traditions: Witches honor Ceridwen through seasonal rituals and celebrations that align with the cycles of the earth, such as solstices, equinoxes, and harvest festivals.
